Highland Cow Experiences, Peak District Highland Cattle Photography Workshops, Safaris and Mini Moo Meet and Greets
Have you ever thought you could be petting, grooming, hand feeding, or feeling the horns of hairy coos?
Well, here is your chance!
Enjoy a personal tour, taken around the Farm, in our All Terrain Vehicle to interact with our large fold of breeding Highlanders and their young calves, grazing the meadows above Sheffield as you learn about this hardy breed and their role here.
Learn about their hierarchy & habits, and observe the family bonds & behaviour.
There will be abundant photographic opportunities when you meet, stroke, brush, feed, and walk with our glorious pedigree fold of Scottish Highland Cattle in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, on the edge of the Peak District, England’s first National Park.
Choose from our Peak Highland Cattle Experience, Highland Calf Hands-On Encounter, Meet the Coos Safari, or one of our VIP Experiences, such as the Deluxe Highland Cow Experience, which includes everything in our other experiences plus the chance of Highland Cow Cuddling, Walking on a Halter, and more! -
Why choose us
We pride ourselves on the fact that our highland cows live long and happy lives, grazing naturally on our pleasant pastures.
With Heilan Coos gaining popularity over the last few years, we decided we could use our open farm platform to further educate the wider community about this fantastic breed! The cute, fluffy coos have a rich history in British Farming and are one of the oldest cattle breeds, dating back to the 6th century in the Scottish Highlands and Western Isles.
We encourage people to Back British Farming and support responsible Pedigree Highland Cattle Breeders who prioritise good genetics, proper herd management, and long-term breed improvement, rather than keeping cattle purely as novelty attractions, so they can be enjoyed for generations to come. We select our breeding stock for good confirmation, friendly demeanour, and longevity.
Did you know Highland Cattle have been selectively bred to be great mothers!!They are widely known for easy calving, good milk for their calves, and very protective mothering behaviour.
Highland cows that don’t have calves are often over-conditioned, which means they will start to lay down excess fat, which can lead to reduced fertility, joint and organ issues, potentially shortening their lifespan!
